The Wizarding Winter Fair – This Friday!

Hello lovely wizards and witches!

Well, it’s been quite a while since we’ve written here hasn’t it? Blimey. We’ve been very busy between the pair of us, Laura setting up her own online shop (find her lovely handcrafted things at www.goodnightboutique.com) and establishing our muggle band, Goodnight Astor, a bit more – check out our site for lots of exciting updates and blog posts dedicated to our unique blend of Victorian murder mystery and music!

Not to fear though, this Friday you can see us as Siriusly Hazza P at the Wizarding Winter Fair at Macclesfield Public Library. The event, held in our hometown, is sure to be lots of fun – a blend of cake, quiz, crafts, carols and wizard rock that will fulfill yearnings for Hogsmeade no problem.
Saturday, there’s an open invitation for everyone to hop on the train to nearby Manchester and enjoy everything it has to offer, as well as an exciting key hunt you can participate in. And why not attend the lovely local Treacle Market in Macclesfield town centre before you depart on Sunday? Lots of lovely stuff to behold there!

There’s lots more detail on the Facebook event page linked above. If you haven’t yet bought your ticket and you find yourself intrigued by what you have read – there’s a link for buying on said event page, tickets will otherwise be £7 at the door, or £2 if you hold a East Cheshire Library card (after all, having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card – kudos if you get the reference)

We sincerely hope we see you there, as it promises to be a magical weekend of fun and festive frolicks!

Lots of love,
Siriusly Hazza P

Wrockeborg!

Last weekend we took a trip to Gothenburg, Sweden to play at Wrockeborg – a fantastic wizard rock event! We had a marvellous weekend taking a trip to the local zoo, the Universeum – a museum containing monkeys, sharks and a flying space chair, a wander around Gothenburg, some interesting local cuisine and of course the show!

It was a well attended event, maybe owing to the organisers appearing on radio and in the newspaper. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the Swedish bands, as well as The Pumpkin Pasties and Romilda Vane and the Chocolate Cauldrons, who are both from closer to home but equally as fabulous.

View our videos from the weekend on our Youtube page - including our cover of Harry & The Potters’ Save Ginny Weasley and a vlog of the fun times we had!

Thanks for having us Sweden!

The next event coming your way will be the Wizarding Winter Fair, held in Macclesfield near Manchester – check out the details here!

4 years!

Yesterday marked the four year anniversary of our first ever Wizard Rock show, which means over four years being involved in this amazing fandom and the people who make it.
We’ve definitely come a long way over this period, changes in line up to changes in musical direction bringing us to be the band we are today.

SHP, circa '07

We organised our first show by ourselves, performing at our local library to an audience of around 40 people on a rickety little keyboard in our coloured jeans. Things have definitely changed since then, sequins and feathers being more our style these days, as well as our performance and music skills growing.

SHP - 2k10

Since then we’ve had a chance to play with some of our favourite Wizard Rock bands, as well as making new friends.

Here’s to more magical shows in the future!

Goodnight Astor, Wrock London and Leakycon!

Wow, it’s really been quite some time since we’ve updated our website. We’ve been rather busy this year focusing on our education but it’s all drawing to a close, so we now have more time to focus on our music, not just our wizard rock project, but our other band Goodnight Astor – you should check out our site if you’ve not already. We’re really excited to be able to now take time to develop our music with this band – recording songs and performing them locally. So keep your peepers on that one.

It’s not been all quiet on the Siriusly Hazza P front this year though, in March, we performed at Wrock London 2011 at the SCR Bar at Queen Mary’s University in London – hosted by the ULU Harry Potter society. We had a great time performing with The Deathsticks and Romilda Vane and the Chocolate Cauldrons and it was great to join in the now traditional wizard dance party at the end of the evening!

You can watch clips of our set here:

This coming summer we’re off to enjoy sunny Florida for Leakycon 2011! This is the first con we’ve attended & it’s sure to be great. How many of you wizards will we be seeing there?

2010!

And so it’s time to wave goodbye to 2010!

We’ve had a fun, busy and amazing year – spending time with our wizarding friends, performing at some amazing events, recording our EP and wearing some marvelously sparkly outfits.

Here we’ve managed to squeeze some of that into just over 3 minutes in a reminiscent montage video, you should take a look!

Also recently uploaded to our youtube channel are videos of our performance from The Snow Ball!

Hope everyone has a great time celebrating the New Year and here’s to lots more fun in 2011!

It’s Time For The Snow Ball Again!

So, this time next week we’ll be in Edinburgh, hanging out with a awesome group of wizards…
Yes, it’s the time of year for the Snow Ball again!
Excited?
We certainly are.
This time round there’s not only just the show Friday evening at the Lot but a wonderful new Library show Saturday afternoon at Edinburgh Central Library.

Bring your cloaks, hats and dancing shoes!

P.S
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s wonderful dresses. The standard was rather high last year, but I’m sure you can raise the glamour stakes even higher this time, you pretty wizards, you!

It’s nearly Wrocktoberfest time!

This time next week we’ll be on our way to Cumbria, home of hills and lakes, to perform at Wrocktoberfest, Cumbria’s first Wizard Rock show!
Also performing will be The Lost Diadems (their first show with their new line-up! Be excited!), Romilda Vane and the Chocolate Cauldrons (she has a lovely lovely voice! Be excited!) and The Dark Mark Experience (they have arranged all of this and it’s their first show! Be excited!)
Being as it is on the night before Halloween, I’m sure a wonderful time is to be had :) A bit of dressing up maybe?

If you’ve not yet got your tickets but the above description has swayed you towards going, take a look at the Facebook event page, from which you can find the link to buy tickets.

Whilst busily practising for the show, we found time to put together some classic close-harmony songs from the 1940s and quickly record them into a video for your viewing (and listening) pleasure, do take a look!

The Climb vs Thinking Of You

We did a cover of these two songs sort of jumbled up.
Then some lovely strings were added by fellow Youtuber, Lastinlineband1
Go have a listen and tell us what you think!

P.S
There’s another song hidden in there too!
